Thanks for all your hard work (and your committee). We had a great time, realizing it was years ago that we were all at Kagnew. Highlights for us were seeing Wilder, Ewing, Moyer and of course the Higgs again. Also thought the dependents performance was really cool.

Sure enjoyed it all! Nice meeting you - and you did just fine on dancing around all those grumpy ASA types too.

It was a pleasure meeting you. Thanks for all your hard work in putting this thing toghter.I thought everything went great. Met a lot of great people.Hope to be able to talk to you more at the next one.

Dear Rick and Staff:

Many thanks for putting on a good show and bringing together all the old farts, etc. It was very enjoyable opening footlockers and telling lies with the old guys. We are glad we came. You and your staff did a great job all that coordinating. My wife and I also enjoyed our early morning (0530) volksmarches in Las Vegas. Thanks again!

Great job........I really had an awesome time...........Wow what a terrific reunion............Thank-you for all you hard work.......

Well, it is all over and you and the committee are to be commended. If some of us ASA people got a little upset, (not me) about the Col from Stratcom, then they should encourage some ASA commanders to show up. So don't worry about it, YOU did a great job an I appreciate your efforts. If any of them want to complain please refer them to me and I will tell them how the cookie crumbles. I had a great time and so did my sweetie......

You are Truly a awesome person. ....... and I were Blessed by the gathering. The event had as much impact on ....... and I as did my stay at Asmara.

May God Bless you and your family.

Had the BEST Time at the Reunion, Rick! All your late nights, laminating badges and countless hours spent emailing were well worth it! Thank you so much, Rick for doing this. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, talking with you and Linda and Dean and all the others. You are the best! Ciao for now.

JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW WHAT A GREAT JOB YOU DID AND IF ANYONE PLANS ANOTHER REUNION DURING MY LIFETIME, GIVE THEM MY NAME AS A VOLUNTEER TO HELP OUT. HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN AT A FUTURE REUNION.

Just a few lines to thank you for doing such a good job with the reunion. I know you had a good group working with you, especially Linda and the rest of the girls.. The best time for me was when we went out looking for the Ethiopian restaurants and ended up at the Imperial Palace "Tea Room." What a blast. I know ............... had a great time. Thanks again.

Picked up my folks at the airport last tuesday morning. They could not say enough nice things about you and Linda. They had a wonderful time, and that says a lot when my father is impressed. Great job!! Still sorry I couldn't make it but the daughters graduation had to come first. I will make one and we will meet.

Jjust a few lines to thank you so very much for organizing the Las Vegas reunion. I had a great time, this was my first one I missed the previous one because of 9/11. I saw all the hard work you put into getting this reunion together and believe me a lot of people appreciated it. They gave you a standing ovation. I am very sorry that you are not going to do it anymore . I hope to see you in future reunions where you can sit down and relax and enjoy with your family.

Sorry about you being ill. It is a shame the some people have to behave in the manner they do. I know the banquet was a bad experience for you. You just have to consider the source.. No one could have asked for a better reunion . Everything you and your group did made this a great happening. My wife and I got to see guys that we had not seen in 44 years. It was a neat trip down memory lane thanks to everything you guys did.

Once again let me thank you for all you did to make this reunion very enjoyable for me and the group I traveled with. We thought everything was A number 1 with us. Having organized a few things on a much smaller scale. I can see your reasons for making this your last. I hope whomever replaces you does half the job. Thanks again and you can look forward to my continuing support of the Kagnew web page.

Thanks for the pictures (and the captions...it helps to have the names with the faces!!). ....... and I both had a blast seeing everyone, and it helped her to understand something of what being a military brat in Asmara was like. I think one of the neatest parts of this past reunion is that Debbie G. and I had our 30 yr high school reunion when I thought for sure I'd never see any of my fellow AAHS alums again. I'm looking forward to a "dependent" reunion when we can really gather everyone possible to have a good time catching up on the last few decades. Of course, we need to get the teachers to come, too, so we can have a complete group!

You did a great job and I really wanted to say 'THANK YOU!!" it was a lot of fun and it really was nice to see old friends. Sorry to hear that you got sick from this trip....although I suppose it isn't too surprising since you were so busy that you probably didn't have much down time....the next time come as a guest, not as a worker...trust me, it is fun.....much more fun! and....bring your wife and kids so you won't be missing them so much! By the way, how did your daughters like the t-shirts?

It was nice getting to know you....and thanks again!

I think there was some confusion about the weekend rates but it still was a great deal. We enjoyed the food at the hotel restaurant and hardly eat anywhere else. Hotel location was great, walking distance to some of the best hotels and sites. Next time I’m in Vegas my favorite word will be – Taxi! It was the first time I’ve been further west than Pensacola, FL. ....... and I visited Hoover Dam and took a helicopter flight to the Grand Canyon. We got home exhausted and crashed the whole next day. I can only imagine what you felt like after all the preplanning, getting there early, being involved in setting up most of the activities, wrapping things up, then on top of all that dealing with a sever virus attack. Again, glad you’re feeling better and thanks for all your dedication and effort to make the reunions successful.

I want to thank you and all the committee members for the great banquet. I certainly had a great time and seen friends that I haven't seen over 50 yrs.

Hey Rick, glad to hear that you are back on your feet. You know, I think it took several of us several days to recuperate. I'm still working on it, got a cough and sinus infection that won't let go.

Anyway, you did such a great job, but I understand how it can be hard on family life to be responsible for such a big event. I know that your loved ones were so glad to have you back home and it was very evident how much you missed them too.

Take care Rick, you are such a sweet and great guy, and keep in touch.

A great job done by all. Thanks for the memories.

Glad to hear you are finally among the living again. As I told you while leaving Saturday evening, you and your team members did a fantastic job organizing and hosting the reunion - well done to all.

Now, we'll see if ....... and some of the other ASA/AFRTS folks can assume the responsibility for the next gathering of eagles.

Hope you've recovered by now from the Vegas flu. The "Casino Cough" is still in my chest and won't go away; it happens to almost everyone who visits this town. With so many people playing the machines and handling chips and money it's unavoidable.

Anyway, just wanted to thank you again for "rejuvenating" me and doing such a good job putting everything together for everyone to enjoy. A great time was had by all, despite the few A-holes who had nothing better to do than complain about impertinent crap. Also, it was my pleasure hanging out with you all on Sunday and taking you to the airport was the least I could do for you.

We applaud you for the great reunion. You made it all possible. The only thing you could have done to make it better was to bring your wife and children. We thank her so much for giving up those hours with you which turned into days and weeks and months so that the 200 of us could have a great reunion.
