MECOM Patch Here is another patch which was used by the "Middle Eastern Command" (MECOM) in WW2. It was the official patch for the Asmara area up thru Turkey until the command was disbanded in the late 40's. Then the "Services of Supply" patch, also unofficially known as "Special Services," was used until ASA got the "Gazelle" patch approved in the 1954-55 era. This patch was given to me by Jim Hood, who ran the Oasis club from 49-53. I verified it at that time in official army documents as the MECOM patch.
