JUST A COMMON SOLDIER (A Soldier Died Today)
by A. Lawrence Vaincourt

John Hallahan (67-69 STRATCOM Transmitters), one of our strongest veteran supporters asked me if a well-known poem could be posted for Memorial Day. I did some research and found it was written by a Canadian who enlisted in the service during WW II and wrote this when he came back.

Instead of simply posting the text of the poem, I am providing a link to his son's web page where he talks about his father and the poem and has the poem in it's original form. The second link is the author's link for the poem. Hope you like it.
